I think Mark calls them prelims. I agree that they look like finished pieces and all, but I have a bunch of other pieces that are followed up by a finished inked piece, so to me it's a prelim for the finished ink piece. I love this stage of Mark's process.

Fantastic piece. I love his work, one artist I haven't had a chance to add to my collection so far.

I tried acquiring this in 2009... Oh well. I am jealous. It was published in Various Drawings Vol 4.

Aw, I know how that goes. At least you know where it is. I've been lucky enough to hit Mark up early enough the past few years and will be posting more later. This year, I spaced and think I may have missed out on some killer pieces.
