Published 2011

In his latter years, Steve confined his comic work to his self published (with Robin Synder) booklets.
They were idiosyncratically numbered and this was was number 14 and featured the first appearance of the Distorter.
The Distorter is a metaphorical agent, disinterested in living in human society at all, and dedicated solely to needling the bad and empowering the good.
The Distorter has the power to transforms evil men into living shapes, symbolic of their vices.

I participated in a number of the Ditko Kickstarters and purchased the ones I missed from Robin Snyder.
I am happy to have one of the original covers from this run.

The Ditko burns to light the way back home
A light that warns, Distorter that is shown
They're off to find a hero of today
But what if he distorts all someone's wicked shape?

Line so slowly turns
Art someone there is buying
Keepers of the flames

I really love the much looser style he employed in this time period. It appears he he was taking the early to mid 80's Gil Kane approach, by foregoing the pencils and drawing directly with pen, showing the confidence he still had.
