DescriptionI have been sitting on this gem for a bit, but decided that a Sternko is something that has to be shared, so with Jim's permission (and a watermark), I am posting this masterpiece. The ultimate BoG piece by an artist who understands that Batman shuns the light, that Batman is a creature of the night. No words from me can do this one justice.Social/Sharing |

I agree Batman looks best in a dark setting that's why Steranko was perfect for this. With all these great Batman pieces you keep posting it keeps me entertained. So from now on, I will call you the Gladiator ;).

Like Batman being an urban legend, I was beginning to doubt it's existence! All the details are amazing, Steranko's Batman is a true predator, a hunter in the night!!

Sterenko is a genius. That is the most unique interpretation of your Batman theme yet. Just brilliant.

Jim wouldn't let you show the piece? We don't need to send you into witness relocation, do we? I'd certainly miss you.

My dreams of owning the perfect vintage Steranko are fading fast. When he can bust out commissions as good as this he basically has a license to print money. Stunning.

I just don't know what to say. I love the whole thing from rendition to the noir feel. This would make a pretty awesome movie poster, imo. It's definitely a showstopper!

The greatest of them all - wow. Steranko still sees the world far, far better than any mortal man. Great piece Aric - congrats. And wow!

One might think (they'd be wrong but, legally, they'd be allowed to think it ;-]) that such a simple theme such as Batman posed on/near a gargoyle would grow tiresome after awhile. Then you look at a piece by a TRUE master (No, I don't use that word lightly) of the craft of graphic storytelling, such as what Mr. Steranko has done here and your breath is literally taken away. From the art deco styled gargoyle Batman has been perched upon to the way Mr. Steranko has posed Batman covering his face with his forearm and then the minimalist cityscape background. It's easy to see how much time and thought Mr. Steranko put into this piece by the time all was said and done. BRAVO, Mr. Steranko! Keep on truckin', Ari!
