I posted this piece in the condition I received it initially back in late 2018 (still available elsewhere in this gallery). At the time, and after consulting with numerous knowledgeable collectors, I was very hesitant to have any restoration performed, given the nature and delicacy of the paper and the drawing itself.

More recently, I had a restorer work on another piece, and the results we simply fantastic, so I brought in this piece and asked what could be done. After discussing the approach and receiving assurances that the utmost care would be taken, I turned it over the the restorer.

I cannot even convey how amazing the result is. The pictures do not come close, even though they are the best I can do here. Simply compare this image with the other version that I posted to get a sense.

Absolutely stunning drawing that was reproduced for inclusion in The Drawings of Jeffrey Jones portfolio published by Cygnus in 1982. The art is brimming over with symbolism; the subjects are a mother and son, about whom the mother has wrapped a scarf, signifying the "Hold," or bond, that they have.

Created in 1980 on a large sheet (the paper measures 23 x 17). this was typical of a significant portion of the drawings Jones created from this general era around and after having been part of The Studio.
