Description

Pen and ink on heavy watercolor paper, then colored with transparent oils (which were Jeff's preferred medium for coloring). The background was colored, then droplets of thinner were used to create the textured look. Amazingly clean art - the pen work is simply stunning - a tour de force of brush control and technique. 10.75" x 14.25".

This painting was used to create a limited edition photo-print in 1974. While the print was named Egyptian Queen, Jeff named this piece "Oldest Vampire" in Yesterday's Lily. 100 copies were issued, so it is a relatively difficult print to locate.

PS - I added a detail of the central figure, so the beauty of the work can be appreciated both from further away and up close.

Undoubtedly, a "companion" piece to Vampire Mother from the same year (Brenner limited print) -- This is an outstanding addition, Chad. And the scan looks luscious...
