DescriptionAfter seeing, my good friend Ari Shapiro, add his beautiful BOG by Jim Lee, to CAF for the world to see, I decided to show everyone a commission that I consider a grail piece for me. I commissioned fellow Pennsylvanian and comic legend Jim Steranko, back in early 2013 to create an homage to Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.D issue 3. It has always been one of favorite single issues. After a long wait (Jim told me upfront, that it would be a while), my masterpiece arrived at the end of 2015. It was sure worth the wait. What a fabulous commission. Thanks to Jim Steranko for making one of my dream come true!!!11 X 14 Pencil Only Watermark provided to protect Mr. Steranko's rights to the image Social/Sharing |

Thanks for the honorable mention! I don't even know where to begin describing how cool a piece this is. Definitely a pearl in your collection! Love the composition of this masterpiece and especially the way he'd drawn the jacket. I don't think this can be topped

Absolutely amazing Steranko commission! Congrats! Although the wait is tough at times, it looks like this piece was definitely worth it!

Congrats on such a great commisssion Leonard. It was inspired by a Chandler image wich was used for Armchair Detective Vol. 11 #4 in 1978. At that time it also was published as a poster for the 1978 Winniped Art Gallery in Canada as they had a Steranko exhibition. - Leonard, you are truly lucky! I placed my commission with Jim in 2012, it has been 4 years now, still no commission... :-( - Paying in full upfront did not help either (though, got the money back after 3 years, as I was desperately needing it elsewhere). I am still hoping to get mine.
