I've said it before and I'll probably say it again. Current young fanboys don't understand what these Infantino SW pages mean to us elder statesmen. When this issue was published, there were no Blu-rays. No DVDs, VCRs weren't publicly affordable. The movie was ONLY in theaters. So, aside from going to the movie theater for your fix, (or listening to vinyl Soundtracks, or novels like SPLINTER OF THE MIND'S EYE, or ::shudder:: the HOLIDAY SPECIAL) these comics WERE Star Wars for us, read and re-read over and over. Hence, these pages are seared into the mind's eye of a generation of fans.

Fantastic page! I'm hoping to find a page during the wheel issues around 18 through 23 . Very hard to find anyone selling.

Wow! Stunning page from Marvel's Star Wars #18, early in the original run. And what a terrific page it is! This one has it all--The Millenium Falcon, Tie Fighters, Star Destroyers, Imperials, as well as Leia and Han Solo! Drawn by Carmine Infantino and inked by Gene Day, this page really brings me back to those early years when Marvel's comic series was the only way I could get my regular fix of Star Wars. And those early issues had a certain spirit to them that was very true to the spirit of the original movies, something that the current glut of Star Wars shows seem to have forgotten. I loved these early Star Wars comics almost as much as the movies. And that's saying a lot. Fantastic pick-up, congratulations.
