So great that Jean took the prelim to a finished state like this when he could have went from thumbnail to painting.

Ya, this prelim sketch looks like the final drawing at a quick glance. It does seem like he put more effort into this prelim sketch compared to others. Just fortunate enough to grab this when it popped up.
