I was very lucky I was able to pick this up over 10 years ago. I think this was very early into Andrew Griffith's career, before he became a little more well known.
One of my very first comic art purchases from back in the day. Thanks for being the first to comment on them!
Thanks for being the first to comment on this piece. The detail in Raymond's work is always exceptional.
Can't go wrong with anything Street Fighter right? lol. Thanks again for commenting on another piece by Jose.
Jose is a talented artist! Thanks for being the first to comment on this piece!
I don't blame you. Mico's artwork within this series is exceptional.
I was addicted to this game as a kid. Very Dynamic piece! Congrats!
Thanks so much for finding out for me! Always wondered what this was from! 10 year mystery solved! Thanks again Sanford!
I agree. I think Richard Bennett is one of the most talented and under-rated inkers\pencilers out there. It's sad that he doesn't get more love. He is an exceptional comic artist and the detail in his work is always amazing.
I love his shading and very light cross hatching in this piece.
Joe Bennett is probably one of the most under-rated comic artists in history. Nice piece!
the beginning of the Modern Age “Image Revolution”
The early ’90s really showcase the incredible detail and passion he poured into his artwork—especially during his WildC.A.T.s series.
One of Mico's earlier pieces. Thank you for being the first to comment on this splash page. I'm surprised it doesn't get more love. lol.
Can't ever go wrong with an Ethan Van Sciver piece. The detail in his work is exceptional.
Yes, another older and unique piece by James. Definately a lot of nature in this artwork. lol.
This is a very cool and unique piece by James. Thank you for sharing!
Gotta grab stuff from your childhood right? lol!
Ya, this prelim sketch looks like the final drawing at a quick glance. It does seem like he put more effort into this prelim sketch compared to others. Just fortunate enough to grab this when it popped up.
Oh, thanks! lol. I can't collect any of Jame's art now as they are way above my pay-grade in today's market. I count my blessings that I was lucky enough to aquire some of his original pieces 10 years back. Big thank you to Nick for selling me this piece.
Beautiful piece! Congrats! One of the best James Jean Fables collections on this site. Thanks for sharing!
Agreed! I wish I owned the final production drawings of these pages. The editors probably wanted James to spend more of his time doing covers rather than interior pages because of his exceptional talent. But your right, it would be cool to see James do a comic book with all his artwork from start to finish.
Raymond has a lot of details in his drawings. It's one of his few pencil pieces as he typically likes to work in the digital space. I'm noticing that more and more cover pieces are inks over blueline prints. I think it's almost the norm now a days as more and more artists move into the digital space.
I do not know why he only drew half of this piece. It's a little strange. Perhaps to save time, he drew half because he was going to digitally duplicate this half and super impose it as the other half with a few minor tweeks.
Jame's talent and work ethic is on another level. And his prints are amazing both in quality, detail and craftsmanship. I love the little embossed stamps at the bottom of each of his prints, lol. It's fun and exciting to see new JJ works when they pop up. I just wish his stuff was more accessible.
There are others on this site who have amazing JJ collections that dwarf mine in terms of quantity and quality. I think they are either personal friends with James, or have worked with him on projects before. I was very fortunate to have met James over 10 years ago. Very nice and cool guy. I met him back when he was roommates with David Cho in LA.
Thanks for the kind words. The James Jean drawing that you have on your site is very nice. Stay tuned as I may post one or two more JJ pieces left in my collection. I hope some day he will do another art exhibit showing in LA soon!
Ya, Ralph seems to be a little out-numbered! lol!
Loving the detail in this, especially the detail in Joker's face. Awesome piece!
Yes, his style goes perfect with the theme and concepts of this series! I love the shadows, shapes and textures in his works. He is a very unique artist.
beautiful. At first I thought it was the Dungeons and Dragons poster! lol!
We all need a Jinky page! I think the toys in this piece agree with that sentiment as well! lol!
The turtles in the background are very subtle. Very perceptive observation as I think it can be easily overlooked and missed.
There is something about Artgerm's style of drawing the female face that is unique when compared to other artists. It's seductive, yet not too slutty. It's cute but not Disney cute. It's Kind of like a "sexy-cute" balance that is not easy to describe, but it is what draws me to his art.
