Description

Watercolour and ink drawing on heavy paper. Paper size approximately 13 x 10 inches. Sellotape residue to edges, one piece partially coming into the image.

Published twice, the first time in 1963 to illustrate Lesson 7 of Brunhoff’s book “Babar’s French Lessons”, The Old Lady is Cooking. In 1966 the artist repainted the sugar and rice flour packet labels and attached them over the original French so that the image could be used in “Je Parle Espagnol avec Babar” (Babar’s Spanish Lessons).
