Anyway, Andy works in the Animation / Film industry. The first time Andy came to the house, while we were chatting about animated films, I happened to mention that I loved the movie Beauty and the Beast (the GOOD movie, not the well intentioned but never-live-up-to-the-original, live action film), and was a huge fan of animator Glen Keane. So what does Andy do on his very next visit? He brings me a sheet of delightful Glen Keane sketches! Again, this is only the second time I’ve met the guy! Anyway, that was probably enough to keep him in my good graces for life. But apparently he wasn’t done. For the past several weeks, he had been asking to meet because he said he had something to give me. Of course with this pandemic, a casual meeting with friends isn’t as casual as it used to be. Especially if you don’t want to end up being a casual-ty. But finally earlier today we were able to have a safe and quick visit in a supermarket parking lot. Wearing masks and socially distancing of course. It was great being able to have a face to face in person chat. Almost forgot what that was like.

After a not so brief and condensed catching up, Andy handed me a large plastic sheet with some pieces of paper inside. It included this wonderful 2 x 3 color drawing he did, plus two HUGE sheets of animation drawings that, unfortunately, were too large for me to scan entirely. Will try to find someone to merge the pieces together. Otherwise, I’ll be forced to post a cropped scan. Stay tuned. Anyway, wanted to share at least one of the pieces with you. The scan isn't an exact color match, but it's pretty close. The background on the original is closer to teal. Just a super fun piece that packs as much punch as anything ten times its size.

My thanks to Andy for proving yet again that this hobby is filled with a lot of really wonderful people. So glad he lives nearby. Just praying for the day when we don’t have to risk our lives just to see each other. Hang in there everybody. And please stay safe. Thanks again Andy, you’re the best.
