Finding this Dick Tracy panel from a Sunday page that appeared on November 1, 1942 was quite a rare opportunity for me. It depicts the second appearance of one Dick Tracy's greatest villians...that being Pruneface. This infamous foe was first introduced on October 23, 1942 in the very last panel of this daily strip. His next appearance was approximately a week later on the very first day of November. This is the second panel depiction of Pruneface from this particular Sunday. So far, this is the earliest known example of Pruneface orginal artwork from the newspaper pages of Dick Tracy. In my opinion...the villians are much more interesting than the main characters...and Pruneface is one of my all time favorites.

I do have a full Nov. Pruneface Sunday, which I got from Richard Fletcher's estate a few years ago. I always thought that it was the only one, so it is interesting to see a lone panel, which means that the page has been destroyed. This is a nice panel! I'll try to post a photo soon.
