DescriptionThe Crow had a deep and lasting impact on me, and on many people. It's been reprinted in over a dozen languages with hundreds of thousands of copies in print. It's spawned a TV series, 4 feature films, and countless licensed statues, toys, and items of all shape and sizes. It has continued in print for almost 25 years (both the original story and subsequent incarnations)and all of that success, love, and appreciation can be traced back to THIS piece. This is the original artwork to the very first comic book published image of The Crow ever created.It was the back cover to the 1st Caliber book ever printed as well, Deadworld #10 and was the omen of great things to come. Wonderfully painted by James O'Barr it struck just the right chord. Fans were never going to know what hit them. Love this piece. I consider myself lucky to own such a key piece of the beginnings of one of the most influential franchises of the last 25 years. Social/Sharing |

Ground zero for what was to be an amazing series. You knew something really different, creepy and cool was coming based on this image...but you could never have guessed the magnitude!

I'm in complete and utter awe. I've seen this image many times but never thought I'd see the original. Not sure if you own it, or if it owns you.. but sincere congrats on an Epic level. :)

Don't get me wrong - I get jazzed about Ditko Spidey, Byrne X-Men and all the other usual suspects as much as the next guy. But, to me, the most exciting CAF updates are when someone posts something both awesome AND out of the box like this piece - congrats!!

Grail in its own right....what a special piece of history. A character who birthed from the anguish of his creator. Think the published art came with a printed quote; "For some things, there is no forgiveness".

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a fantastic painting! Gorgeous work by James O'Barr! Love how the only white on the piece is the face of The Crow, so it pops out while everything else stays dark and mysterious. Stunning!
