Description

Jijé has been one of the dominant forces of Belgian comics from the end of the 30's to the begining of the 80's. His influence has been huge on generations of artists (Franquin and Gir/Moebius, to name but two!...), either stylistically, or by the dynamics he was breathing into his stories.

His ground-breaking pro-indian western series Jerry Spring is one of his most consistent works. Even in the last stories he created in the mid-70's, his style was still evolving, even though, like on this page, he seems to have fancied paying homage to his former assistant Gir and his famed Blueberry strip!

Still, in this mostly quiet page, I like how the first and last panels work like bookends to the dialogue between the 3 characters... And the scout on the last panel demontrates that Jijé was still on top of his game!

Moi aussi je me permets d’ajouter que c’est vraiment une très belle pièce et plutôt rare à trouver - félicitations mon ami pour se petit grail !!

Quand je vois combien coûte une telle planche aujourd’hui, je suis vraiment content d’avoir trouvé celle-ci il y a quelques années ! Merci à toi mon ami !
