Gorgeous page from Rags Morales, whom I have admired since his stint on Black Condor over at DC (I still need to find a Black Condor page!).

This superb page is from the Grant Morrison relaunch of Action comics, and has a young Superman traveling to Mars, where he encounters Angels, Demons, and those weird sentient machines, the Me-Ta-Lek... Not everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoyed it a lot!

Now very interesting: see the close-ups. Rag Morales' black astronaut definitively echoes the famous Wally Wood astronaut from "Judgment Day", back from Weird Fantasy #18 (April 1953); also, his Superman / Superboy definitively has strong Frazetta influences...

What's interesting is that Rags explicitly confirmed these influences, for this particular page, during a convention!

A very nice page, which I am very happy to own!
