Description

This is a recreation of the title splash to STRANGE TALES #89. The customer who won my other Fin Fang Foom recreation wanted me to do this. Unlike usual, I could find no B&W image and it was hard to make out the smaller
figures since they had gradually closed in from stats being copied, etc. for Marvel reprints.

I dropped out as much color as I could in Photoshop before bluelining what I had.

I like this one better than the first FOOM piece and would still like to do the cover, but its coloring is so dark in places (and gray tones) it would be impossible to drop out enough color to clean it up much. Original art by Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers!

I'm not usually a fan of recreations (more miss than hit in most cases), but having seen your Kirby re-dos I've now come across someone who captures to perfection the essence of the original artists' work. Brilliant stuff, well done! Would love to see you tackle a Ditko ASM cover . . .
