DescriptionNo sooner do I get my first ever Colan page inked by Joe Sinnott (and one was all I THOUGHT I needed), featuring the delightfully amoral SUPREMA in her first appearance (see elsewhere in my gallery), than BANG, I find another page, even more seductive, an absolute pandemonium of shadows and curves, forms so abstracted that everything on the page seems to be implicated in some kind of cubist reverie on the body of Sharon Carter. It's another key issue as well: First CYBORG! And also: Last CYBORG!Social/Sharing |

Just real slick in how Colan spots the shadows and Sinnott has to follow for that terrorized look in panel 2. Female anatomy by Colan is poetry in motion!

Sinnott is such an interesting choice to ink Colan. He doesn't attempt to ink tonally, like Tom Palmer did, but manages to keep those dark shadows from becoming flat with that wonderfully lush feathering of his. A sweet, sweet page. Congrats my friend.

Fantastic pickup Aaron. I absolutely love Gene Colan's depiction of Sharon Carter during this run. Very envious of this page.
Typically beautiful cinematic angles throughout this gem.

As you say, a cubist confection in curves and shadows. And familiar! Congratulations on picking up a prize.

Great page! 1st Cyborg is really something special. Especially the last panel which could easily be the 1st appeance (prototype) of Colan's Jemm, Son of Saturn which arrived on the DC scene in September, 1984.

Joe made everybody look great, but I think Giacoia captured Colan's pencils ever so slightly better......but I'm splitting hairs!
