DescriptionThis wonderful Humberto Ramos variant cover celebrates the legacy of Captain America. I was so happy to pick this one up in a recent ComicLink auction.Love all the various incarnations of Captain America. My favorite is the image of Cap on a motorcycle. But I also love that American Dream (Shannon Carter from Earth-982) is featured. To be honest, I'm not familiar with the bald, craggy scarred version of Cap with the "A" carved on his forehead. Does anyone know which Cap version that is? Social/Sharing |

Nice dipiction of multiple Caps. The scraggy one would be from the Earth X mini-series. Congrats.

A patriotic beauty. And fortunately, Stan "The Man" signed it in a good spot ;)

Thank you! And I totally agree about the Stan Lee signature. As great as it is to have a Stan Lee sig, it's nice wen it isn't too intrusive.

I'm not even American and this makes me want to stand up and shout 'Murica. Great pick up Paul.

I'm so glad to see Ramos continue with all the little bits of crosshatching. Dare I say I've actually become a fan of his work ever since he began doing that and went slightly more realistic with body proportions? Yes, I dare say it!

Where did he find the time? He's been one of the most sought after artists for a while. This is a really good one as we see here in this earlier form, the style from 2015 that he would now in 2021 use for his Strange Academy work.

Great montage cover, and I'm also pleasantly surprised to see American Dream on this. I feel like she dropped off the radar about 10 years ago, so it's nice to see her get her props again.

Strong movie poster layout, but the inking throughout really takes it over the top IMO. So much great detail brought on by the hatch-y linework, particularly on the Cap bust shot and the flag. All the versions honestly look great. Really digging this Ramos example. Congrats, Paul!

I like the headshot, especially with the flag as a backdrop. But I think my fave might be American Dream. Not at all familair with the character, but artistically, I think it has the strongest Ramos identity. Great cover buddy!

Captain Americas reporting for duty, sir! I really like how Ramos' style has changed, as Rubén said. A little less cartoony, but still all that fantastic detail. And the composition of his image is great, making an X of the Cap iterations. The deflated and demoralized Cap from Earth X is such a great inclusion, too. What happens when the American Dream fails and implodes? Wala. Another great piece, Paul. Congrats!

Now I hope Ramos works on monthly Cap one day! This is phenomenal!
The cross-hatching on the American flag sets a tough and nostalgic tone to this piece, echoing Steve's history and committment. I love the detailed work also on Cap's scales on the right, how the 1940s Cap has his back turned in a symbolic gesture to the past, then the alternate futuristic Earth X Steve Rogers in front of that. The composition of the cover is just top-notch work and I am jealous you own it, sir!
But I am also thank ful you are sharing the piece here with us on CAF. That rocks!
