DescriptionOnce again, Jerry did a fantastic job with the commission. One of the best things about it, unlike many artists back in the day, he didn't basically draw the same Superman twice (figuring the colorist could just add in some gray hair for the golden age version) but made the costumes different, using more of the original symbol for the golden age version. When discussing this, we actually had to dig out the story and read it to tell which Superman was striking first since the original cover you couldn't tell which was which. And even the old Batman shows no fear, taking on Dr Fate, wonder what he had tucked away in his utility belt for him. :) Anyway, just one more example of Jerry's great art, and such a nice guy to work with. That's one thing about this hobby, almost all of the artists I've met through the years are really pleasant to work with. Social/Sharing |

What a wonderful commission. I already own three Ordway covers but just can't get enough of his art. Maybe a commission might be in the offing. I love this one and congratulations for getting fantastic work from a true gentleman and legend!

I only have one cover from him, but commissions like this are cover quality to me.

It's not inexpensive, but he does such a great job with his art and such a nice guy to work with. I would get one every month or two if I could afford it, but then, there are several artists I would be getting like that if I could just win that lottery... :)
