Description

I have always liked Rick Leonardi. It takes GUTS to come out with a style so different from everybody else, and to stick to it so faithfully, for so long. Spider Man 2099 was a really funny read, the David/Leonardi/Williamson team was a great one, and they didn't get the praise they deserved for this intelligent cycle of stories.

Togheter with the classic costume page by Steve Rude and with the black costume page by Arthur Adams showed in other galley rooms, the costume depicted in this page completes the trifecta of outfits that immediately comes to my mind when I think of Spider Man.

This page is a very good sample of the whole Spider Man 2099 run and of the electric Leonardi/Williamson combo: it has been in our household for more than ten years now, and I personally consider the third panel on of the highlights of this collection.

I agree wholeheartedly...Leonardi's depiction of Spidey 2099 is AMAZING! His art style made the book for me. Thanks for sharing this gem with all of us!

Leonardi is one of my favorite pencilers - his work has such a fluidity to it. His Uncanny X-Men issues are some of my faves. The bottom panel, the classic hero pose (yet rarely used with Spider-man!), makes this one a gem.

When Marvel put together Peter David, Rick Leonardi & Al Williamson only the result was a special Spider-Man. One of best ever.
