Description

The Gymnast by Lewis Baumer. Baumer contributed to many books and magazines of the era. I greatly enjoy his lines. This was done in 1915, and auctioned at a Red Cross Concert Auction. The auction was held during the Great War, and took place in May of 1915. Won By John W. Slater, Lt. Colonel. One wonders what path it took to arrive in my collection?

A wonderful additon to your collection, Jim. I love Baumer's work and feel that he is a vastly underrated Punch contributor. That line work of his was quite wonderful.

I feel much the same about his work. Each line is always elegantly rendered. He deserves much more recognition. Glad you enjoyed it.
