Description

From an Evelyn Waugh story published in a 1935 issue of Nash's Magazine. "Mr Crutwell's Outing." Mr Illingworth had a long and distinguished career. I love his mix of characters and style. this story takes place in an asylum. Mr Crutwell gains a release, but returns after a shocking misadventure. A mix of would be dictators populate the crowd, arguing over who is the real deal. The characters and expressions are fascinating.

Illingworth was a terrific cartoonist and this is a wonderful original. His sense of design and touch with the materials is superb. Congrats!

Glad you enjoyed it. I, also, find his work very striking. Much underappreciated artist, who deserves more recognition.
