DescriptionI've been a big fan of the Keegan's work over the years. Their work on "Two Gun Bob" is wonderful. I feel it beautifully captures the character of REH, his region, and the era in which he resided. Here, the young Robert hears folktales and ghostly remembrances which will influence his later work. The style used in these is just perfectly suited to the events related. Never thought to have one of these in my collection. Thanks to Dennis for parting with it.Social/Sharing |

Very nice how a young REH is passed down the gift of storytelling with a fireside chat. The lurid tales seem all the more authentic when told by the elderly who have experienced horrors in their life.

Oral tradition is one of the great gifts of our society. It levels all who participate. No matter the background, or situation, of the one relating the story, the magic of that tradition can inspire and enchant. I can well imagine REH sitting at this feet of this acomplished storyteller and experiencing the tales she had collected.
