Description

Floyd Gottfredson Mickey Mouse Daily Comic Strip Original Art (King Features Syndicate 1945).

Mickey Mouse finds a fantastic sale and upgrades his Christmas Gift list. The daily was created in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 18" x 5.5". Signed by Gottfredson in the image area.

Daily Strip originale di Mickey Mouse del 1945 realizzata dal grande Floyd Gottfredson.
Le strisce Disney anni �30/40 sono sicuramente tra i pezzi pi� rari da reperire nel settore del collezionismo di originali, gran parte del materiale � andato completamente distrutto, si stimano poche centinaia, forse anche meno, di tavole anni �30 e probabilmente ancor meno del periodo tra il 1940/49 dato che le strip avventurose furono tutte tagliate e rimontate per realizzare il formato pagina verticale per i comics book dell�epoca.
La striscia che vi mostro � una Gag Daily, praticamente � una gag autoconclusiva, per questo probabilmente sopravvissuta anche perch� lo stesso Gottfredson a volte le regalava a collaboratori e amici, infatti si nota la firma nel terzo pannello (come dedica).

Pretty Gottfredson artwork! He was the main artist on Mickey and came to homes a lot more frequently than they saw Mickey elsewhere. This is a great story with the sign of the times in post WWII America where there would be a lot of army surplus laying about.
