DescriptionThis cover truly packs a punch !! Aqualad is making up for his TT absence since TT 19. And Robin really takes it on the chin, considering he's barely in this issue. I think this is one of Nick's best Teen Titans covers. And one of his best drawn issues. And a great coloring job from front to back. Starting with TT 27 until it was cancelled with TT 43, the left side of the covers would feature TT figures. This TT 28 cover is the only exception to that rule. Nick said the whitespace is there because any background would dilute the motion and impact. And I think this impact is why it's the exception re: the left side. The original cover with the white background even looks better than the reprint cover with a touch of blue. Robin was created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson. Aqualad was created by Robert Bernstein and Ramona Fradon. Kid Flash was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino. Speedy was created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp. Wonder Girl was created by William Moulton Marston, H.G. Peter and Robert Kanigher. Social/Sharing |

I agree. This is one of Cardy's best. I even liked the TT logo better on the original than on the reprint tpb.

Good call re: the TT logo. From Brave & Bold and Showcase until the cancellation of the TT series, both logos have had almost equal time. But the later logo was just more dynamic.

Excellent Cardy cover. Nice that it features the whole team, of course. Just a dynamic action scene. And love the motion lines on Aqualad. A great addition to your wonderful Cardy collection.

Yes, this is one of Cardy's best covers. As a young reader, I could almost feel the impact on Robin's jaw.

If they were to do an homage today, the rest of the Titans would have their cell phones out recording and yelling out Worldstar! As hard charging and as stunning as a knockout blow can be. This is worse than the abuse Batman gives him as the impact affects him physically and challenges his leadership. A signature Cardy cover and his finest on this title.

2nd best cover. I'm partial to #14. I have a color recreation of this cover by Nick and Tom.

This cover packs a punch! And Nick Cardy did so many as powerful as this one that it's almost impossible to count them all!

Robin's face is priceless! Honestly, it is not an uncommon thing for Nick Cardy to hit one out of the park, but this one is special.
I really like the cover for #27 with the border. Then again, I am a sucker for those borders or roll call banners on the top.
