It's too bad Alan Weiss didn't do more conics. I remember this being a fun story.
Great story !! Rare double page spread by Novick !!!
And bears a resemblance to Ditko's Starman, also published by DC. Either way, beautiful piece.
Kind of weird to use duoshade for something that was reduced to trading card size. Weren't some cards in some series also published in comics size ?? Ignoring the background, there looks to be some Miller influence in the posing. Glad to hear your mother improved.
Guessing Yoda was cropped because you'd see he's wearing pants. Eehh... cropped it is. Editor Sith is.
Alway good to see Mera and her twin sister Hila. Noone drew Mera better than Nick !!!
Cool page. I guess they brought in Schaffenberger to ink the heads on Captain Marvel (ala Murphy Anderson / Jack Kirby)
Beautiful piece. Newton was taken way too soon.

At least someone in the Cox family has enough sense to be a DC fan.
Thanks for reminding us of The Purple Testament, a Twilight Zone classic, as are they all.
Nice art. But Chiarello being a Columbo fan leads one to conceive of interesting commission ideas.
That close-up of Swamp Thing is very my Wrightsonian. Perkins must be really proud of that shot.
Wait until DD starts waving his... um... billyclub around !!
Never ever thought I'd see a Ms Mystic drawing by a 'random' artist. Cool sketch !!
I hope noone is going to claim Hoffman as their favorite artist without seeing the irony. I have a couple pieces in my collection (not posted) and I like them. He must know his market but I wish he didn't put out so many very loose drawings.
Possibly the coolest thing on CAF in a while. And definitely the smokiest. It never would occur to me to acquire anything by Wendelin.
Nice change from the art deco background associated with the Rocketeer !!
Anyone that can draw a horse is alright with me. And in general, Isherwood is very underappreciated.
Beautiful rendition of Catwoman '66 !!
Nice try, I think I'll keep it !!! I've been known to dabble. Anyway, being a fan of Mike, I also have a copy of Marvel Team-Up 89 (Spidey and Nightcrawler). The first half was drawn by Mike. The second half was drawn by Rich Buckler. With inks by Joe Rubenstein.
Another great one !! I like being able to compare the actual scene to the artist's interpretation. It must be tough to be in the open with the breeze blowing on the board and drying out the paints.
I'm not a Marvel guy but the Claremont/Byrne run on X-Men maintained a very high standard for the ages. Byrne mentioned the whole boot thing in the X-Men Companion. Forgot which volume that was, I or II. Those books are highly recommended for any fan of the X-Men. I understand Byrne's reasoning and I like the look, especially in this awesome drawing.
Amazing colors !! Unusual to see the glasses as a prop.
So you've eased out of collecting original art and now you're creating original art ?? Good luck with the Kickstarter !!!
