Description

For my taste, Krenkel created so many little gems in the large pages of sketches he cranked out throughout his career. Here's a small pencil of Tarzan or some similar character in a relaxing pose after a day of tree swinging and fighting wild beasts. I really like the economy and subtlety of the handling on this one. Very natural feel to the figure and love the key anatomical indications he decided to include.

This was clearly cut from a page of many little sketches given the irregular shape of the piece, as is often the case with RGK comps and roughs.

Kudos to Anthony and his team for another smooth transaction!

Thanks for taking a look!

Gorgeous figure study.

This is so beautiful. Sculpted out of observation and imagination, it shows a masterful command of anatomy. Love how the figure bears weight and it works as an abstract composition as well. What a gem!

Krenkel was a master (obviously) and the small sketch studies that he would (one supposes) dash off are elegant, stunning testaments to his command of lighting and form...  WOW - you got a -great- one here, a a!  Congrats!

A beautiful RGK sketch. He actually appears to be in motion though. The vertical line o nthe bottom left appears to represent his right leg. Either way, tyically gorgeous work!

Yeah, I could see it as his other leg now that you mention it, but I can still see it as a rock he's kneeling/sitting on.  Either interpretation works for me as well

Love seeing masters flex their skills in studies and sketch pages! It's a beautiful piece!

Very cool figure study with the lean musculature at work.  Normally, you'd see more of the ballpoint drawings from Krenkel instead of these thick pencils.

This is lovely. The great artists can grab you with a paucity of well-placed lines. As you said so well, I love the indicators he included.  The art is all there, and it isn't. Very cool piece. Swingin!

Gorgeous sketch by a true master! It's amazing how much a talented artist can communicate with a few simple lines. This is a quick sketch, but Krenkel is able to say a lot in those few lines. Great pick-up--Congrats!
