Done for Miracleman's return to comics! Presumed to be intended for publication in Spawn Book Of The Dead.

Miracleman re-appeared as alter ego Mike Moran in Todd McFarlane's Hellspawn #7. Due to a legal battle between Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane over the ownership of the character rights, he never appeared in costume as intended. Miracleman and Hellspawn were to join forces in an armageddon-like finale which would have taken place in issue(s) #12 and/or #13. The storyline was meant to climax with Mike Moran regaining his memory and appearing in full costume as Miracleman! Sadly, this was never realized. Miracleman finally made his re-appearence in the oft-delayed Image 10th Anniversary Hardcover Special where he was renamed "The Man of Miracles" to avoid further litigation with Gaiman.

There are only five pieces of Ashley Wood art known to exist featuring Miracleman in full regalia! This particular pin up is the only one to feature both Mike Moran and Marvelman | Miracleman! And is scarce beyond belief due to the fact that Ash rarely produces work for the superhero market!!

Ashley Wood (b.1971) is an Australian Illustrator, Concept Designer, and Comic Book Artist. He is best known for his atmospheric cover art, which contains elements of Expressionism. Wood generally works in mixed media, often combining traditional oil painting with digital photography and graphic software. He lives with his wife, his two sons and one stinky cat in sunny California.

He has worked for most major publishing and entertainment companies, including: Dreamworks, Warner Bros, Sony, Konami, Vivendi International, Random House, Marvel Comics, Todd McFarlane Productions, Dark Horse Comics, and IDW. Ashley’s work has also appeared in books, movies, magazines, comics, television and video games. As a Comic Book Artist, he worked for many years in the International and U.K. arena before breaking into the U.S. market working for such companies as Marvel, Dark Horse, and DC. Wood later worked for Image, where he was asked to create the cover art in all areas of media for the various Spawn properties of Todd McFarlane Productions. More recently, he has been pursuing a variety of projects with IDW Publishing.

Ashley Wood is a three-time Spectrum Award winner and a two-time Communication Arts Award winner. His art is published worldwide on a regular basis and he has contributed to both solo and joint fine art exhibitions. His art books include Uno Fanta, Dos Fanta, Tres Fanta and the five compilations of work - Grande Fanta, Big Gibbly, Sencilla Fanta, Grande Finale, and Sencilla Finale. Ashley Wood's ongoing Popbot series is available in several formats and multiple languages, and both Sideshow Toys and Medicom Toys have created toys based on his work.

Currently, Ashley divides his time between operating his entertainment company, 7174; creating properties for film, comics, books, and toys; and commissions from the advertising and entertainment industries.
