DescriptionEric Canete - Untold Tales Of The New Universe: Justice Cover, 2005, Pen and Ink / Blue Line Pencil on Heavy Ply Smooth Laser Stock, 9 1/4 x 14 Inches, Signed. Copyright Eric Canete. Eric Canete was born in Cebu City, Phillipines in 1974. He is an accomplished Illustrator, Designer, and Storyboard Artist whose artwork is widely recognized for “the European flavor of his lines." "His harsh, angular pencil stroke invokes a sense of the mysterious and the dynamic all at once.” Eric began his career as Designer and Storyboard Artist for Peter Chung’s highly-acclaimed MTV Animated Series - AEon Flux, which was developed into a live-action feature film at Paramount Pictures with Producer Gale Anne Hurd. He has since provided Concept Art, Designs, and Storyboards on a variety of Animated Series’ - Phantom 2040 for Hearst Entertainment; Men In Black, Godzilla, and Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles for Sony Pictures Animation; He-Man and The Masters of The Universe and Justice League Unlimited for Cartoon Network; The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury for Universal Studios; The Batman, Teen Titans, and Legion of Superheroes for Warner Brothers Animation. Eric has also been a mainstay of the comic industry. Beginning with his work for Glenn Danzig’s Verotik, where he produced Igrat, Satanika, and Albino Spider. He then moved to DC Comics, where he produced work for DCU Villains Secret Files & Origins #2, the Superman 80-Page Giant #2, and various fill-ins on Superman Adventures. DC was so impressed with his interpretation of Superman, they offered him the flagship "Superman" title of the Wildstorm Universe, Mr. Majestic. This led to continued work with Wildstorm on Ladytron, Cybernary 2.0 (the follow-up to the original Cybernary by Nick Manabat and a featured flip-book to Jim Lee’s Deathblow) and finally, NYC Mech: Beta Love. He collaborated with Joe Casey on Marvel’s Deathlok, and more recently, began producing a variety of covers for Marvel - the most notable being Nick Fury’s Howling Commandos #4-5 and Untold Tales of The New Universe: Justice #1. Recent works include his collaboration with Casey on Iron Man: Enter The Mandarin, as well as taking on the the art chores to Rick Remender's The End League beginning with issue #5. He is currently hard at work on an as yet unannounced personal project; little is known about it except that it is a 150-page Graphic Novel entitled Obelisk. Social/Sharing |

Love this guy! (Artist, not Justice... he's okay.) I bought this book JUST for the cover! Nice piece! Congrats. Also, thanx for all the extra info. Hopefully that project is still on.
