DescriptionBursting forth from the Bronze Age! The great new series from the New House of Ideas - The Atlas League! The old Atlas line, while brief, had a lot of cool stuff going for it. Lots of great art from folks like Howard Chaykin, Neal Adams, Klaus Janson, Ernie Colon and Steve Ditko and cool characters like the Grim Ghost and Phoenix. I love the idea of a unified team from all those bits and pieces and I think Chris did an amazing job bringing the whole thing together on this cover. The Brute, Man-Monster and Demon-Hunter are beautiful! --- When the Doomstalker cyborg threatens the United States of America the country has only one choice - to assemble their greatest heroes to save the day! Destructor! The Brute! Dark Avenger! Tiger-Man! The Cougar! The Man-Stalker! Demon-Hunter! The Protector! Targitt! The Son of Dracula! Tarantula! The Scorpion! Man-Monster! The Grim Ghost! and Phoenix! Can the world's greatest super-heroes stop this evil monstrosity? What is the Doomstalker's connection to the Combine? And wait! Aren't Targitt and Man-Hunter the same person?!? And how can the Phoenix be in two places at once?!? Strap yourselves in for a thrill ride we just had to call - The Coming of the Titans! Original size 11x17 [and I'll pre-emptively © and trademark the awesome Atlas League logo - if nothing else than on behalf of Chris] Social/Sharing |

Nice commission by Chris and a great reminder of how this could have been a a really good comic company of the Goodmans had stuck with it, especially since they had an incredible talent line up.
is it me or have I never seen any original art pages from Atlas, were they all destroyed? Those Ditko Destructer pages were awesome.

Instinct is to say I used one as part of the reference batch for this one. But I've certainly read about how, at the end, things were in such bad shape that folks were just walking off with the original art.
