I can remember coming across old Charlton comics when I was visiting my grandparents as a kid. I'm not really sure, though, that I got it that these heroes weren't in the same world as Spider-Man and Superman. But they were cool (I'm looking at you Judomaster). I've enjoyed small press / indy work ever since and, at this point, I actually buy more small press stuff than Marvel and DC combined.
