DescriptionBursting forth from the Bronze Age! The great new series from the New House of Ideas - The Atlas League!The old Atlas line, while brief, had a lot of cool stuff going for it. Lots of great art from folks like Howard Chaykin, Neal Adams, Klaus Janson, Ernie Colon and Steve Ditko and cool characters like the Grim Ghost and Phoenix. I love the idea of a unified team from all those bits and pieces and as a big fan of TJ's work I pretty pleased he was up for doing a second cover. Based on the cover to Justice Machine #5 it's another bit of expanding the world of Atlas comics by referencing the beautifully drawn "Lay of the Sea" from Devilina #1. Atlas's merfolk come to the fore with the introduction of new team member Amabie. The Protector looks great here as do all the heroine's faces. And, for the record, the Chris's "Lettering" credit has to do with the masthead / logo. The cover type is my hack-job. --- Returning from their battle last issue with the Golden Fuhrer the League finds itself diverted by a mysterious call from an oil drilling rig off Massachusetts. The team arrives and is amazed to find that the oil workers have stumbled across a real live mermaid! Rising from the depths Amabie has come to bring a prophecy of doom to the surface world! What is this horrible prophecy? What impact does it have on the League?? Read on o' faithful ones a story that we had to call - Revelation from the Deep! I'm buying two copies of this! I agree with Travis, TJ IS getting better with each piece! This is tops so far in the series!
