Very nice! I think I've seen the Infantino prelim sketch for this cover on CAF at one point also

It turns out that here on CAF, one user has the unpublished alternate version of the cover, and another user has the rough payout concept by Infantino. It's neat to see the full evolution of this through three different versions! I added the other two into "Additional Images".

Bob, an incredible Cardy masterpiece! Thank you for the heads up about the Donnelly unpublished cover!; its not likely they would ever disclose that its not the original published cover! Give me a holer if you ever decide to sell this one!

I think this is one of the all-time classic Superman covers. Mr. Cardy's changes to Infantino's original layout are all spot on, really ramping up the drama.
