DescriptionAbsolutely love this cover by the great Aaron Lopresti, and super stoked to add it to my collection! Tons of characters surrounding a beautiful image of the Scarlet Witch.And I remember the whole 2004 Avengers Disassembled story very fondly. All kinds of mysterious and tragic events beset the Avengers, including the death of Scott Lang from an exploding Jack Of Hearts, an attack of killer Ultron drones, She-Hulk going berserk and tearing Vision in half, Tony Stark's drunken outburst at a UN meeting though he had consumed no alcohol... Turns out it was all a result of Wanda's chaos magic going wonky because of her mental breakdown from losing her two magically constructed children. Hmmm ... sounds bit like the plot of a recent Doctor Strange movie. This was just the beginning of the Scarlet Witch's warping of reality. First we got House Of M, where mutants reigned supreme, and then the famous "Mo More Mutants" line resulting in the decimation of almost every mutant on the planet. Sweet and chaotic ! My Wanda-rous fan-daughter would agre to become Magnetos (true Kirby 1960s storywise) or Ultron's (Mighty MCU-ly) underling for this beautiful cover ;)

Yes, a wonderful cover featuring the awesome power of Wanda Maximoff as she toys with all the supposedly more powerful heroes of the Marvel Universe. They had no idea what they were in for when they chose to underestimate this bad bitch!

Yeah, you're absolutely right, all those powerful heroes are but playthings for our favorite bitchy witch, who has really found her niche. What a glitchy sitch. This is way more exciting than reading Richie Rich, or even playing Quidditch!

I don't see the need for the What If? The Avengers couldn't have been any more down after the disassembled. How they wanted to warp Bendis and Finch's masterwork into any more tradegy is beyond me. It bascially made the Avengers as the main focus of the Marvel Universe in the same way the MCU was born. This cover is everything you want from it with the reveal front and center.

I've always thought of Aaron as a strong, competent artist. He doesn't have a flashy style that jumps out at you. And maybe that's why he might get overlooked sometimes. But I've never seen a bad drawing from him. Great Scarlet Witch cover and love all those characters in the background.

Chaos magic's no joke! I too remember that particular Avengers Disassembled issue - one crazy thing after another...and we loved it! Really like the face on Wanda here. I hear Aaron's good at drawing those :) Congrats, Paul!
