DescriptionOkay, yes, I am posting this cover on the heels of the "Bill & Ted 3" movie trailer release.(I'm so excited!!) But when I bought this piece, I had no idea that there might be a third movie. The reason I bought it was because when I was in grad school, my roommate — Kevin Coward— and I LOVED the movie "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." We went to it numerous times in the theater, we bought the movie as soon as it was available, we called each other "Dude!" all the time, we quoted the movie at every turn, and we just generally embraced the whole 'Bill & Ted' mythos. Although Kevin drove me crazy almost daily, he was one of my very best friends, and also my brother. I was a super serious student throughout high school and grad school, and Kevin was the one who taught me how to relax and 'take a load off' every once in a while. Without him, I probably would have gotten multiple ulcers while I worked on my master's thesis. Kevin had diabetes and died in 2013 at the much too young age of 44, but he will always have a special place in my heart. And by posting this cover, I want to pay tribute to our friendship, our raising of two cats (Aria & Dolce), our silly little apartment in Ann Arbor, MI, all the potatoes we ate because they were cheap and we were broke (Kevin couldn’t even look at a potato for years afterwards), our crazy Brazilian roommate Enio (who, when he got drunk, would proclaim "I'm busted!"), all the beers we drank (and tried to work off by swimming laps in the university pool), and the million other memories that we shared. This one's for you, Kev. And before I get way too emotional (cuz after all, this is Bill & Ted we're talkin' about), I just want to say "Be excellent to one another ... and Party On, Dudes!!" Oh, and I think it is so appropriate that Evan had fun with the bottom border credits. After NO he wrote "Sales, no hope." For MONTH and SCHEDULE, he wrote "?!?!?" and for ARTIST, he wrote "Who, me? Artist?" Kev would have loved that. Social/Sharing |

Touching story Paul and it sounds like Kevin was a great guy for sure.
To Kevin! I think So-Crates and Billy the Kid would be proud!

I only ever saw the first film, back when it came out, so perhaps I need to view it again! I never would've guessed that the artist from Milk & Cheese would ever have done Marvel work, so cool. But the coolest thing about this post is without a doubt the great story that comes with the art. It's incredibly sad to know somone that young could be taken by diabetes. But Kevin would be proud and love this fabulous tribute to him. You did him proud today, Paul!

"No waaay" :) Great piece, man, and it definitely takes me back. Congrats! To this day this movie holds up great and still SO fun, and funny! Really cool to see the crossover into comic OA. And appreciate the words regarding your bud.

Excellent cover Paul! And thank you for sharing that very touching story about your friend. Art is great but when there is meaning behind it, it is so much more powerful. Congrats on this very memorable piece!
