Description

2004, Jim Steranko was artist guest of honor at Dragon Con. He premiered a new sketchbook of his art at the convention, shot from his original pencils. This Phoenix sketch was printed in the book. The conversation went something like this...
Me: "You just printed this book, right Jim?"
Jim: "Yes".
Me: "Does that mean this original pencil sketch is still in your files?".
Jim: "Yes".
Me: "Would you be willing to sell her?".
Jim: "Yes".
:-)
There was a little more negotiations to work out, this sketch is actually more detailed than the version printed in the sketchbook, Jim wanted to put in extra shading and tighten up the sketch before he sold it. That certainly was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to get something from the Master.

This is THE BEST Phoenix and one of the MOST INCREDIBLE pieces of art I have ever seen!!!! All hail The Master !!!!
