Nice! I just got the regular version for myself.
Agree, definitely not Adam Hughes. Maybe some other artist with an "AH!" signature, but not Adam Hughes.
Thanks for the comment! It's very long, about 5" x 16". Not signed (would love if he had lettered something on it), but it is featured on a Toth website that shows multiple examples of his storyboards, including this one, so that's good enough of a verification for me... http://pangolinbasement.blogspot.com/2014/10/toth-robin-hood-disney-production-art.html
Thank you for participating in our Orbital Mind Control Laser test, we see it is an unqualified success! Please repeat process over entire gallery. Fnord!
I think you mean "1979", not "1974", particularly since this was "Star Wars 2" you were advertising. Great gallery, I made it to most of the '80's Chicago Comicons myself...
Sounds like it's gone to a great home, thanks for picking it up!
You would know best Ray, since you got it for me! :-) Thanks for helping my incomplete memory.
A classic piece from my favorite SF book of all time. Thanks for posting it!
You got the fantastic Fantagraphics Vol 5 cover, so I'm glad we were both able to get something nice. I wonder what else he may have had hidden in his portfolio that we never found out about. ;-)
"I will kill everyone!" "No, 'I' will be the one to kill everyone!" SMACK! Great commission!
Great looking piece, glad you were able to get it before you had to leave!
Nice! Artist is Amy Mebberson, if you want to add her to the credits. http://amymebberson.tumblr.com/
DNAgent Rainbow, as seen in Will's own gallery... http://cafurl.com?i=13619
Nice one! But if that was your only sketch the entire show, you weren't really trying. Heck, people should be coming to YOU to give you sketches! :-)
Woo, great con sketch (particularly for a small show). Congrats!
Wonderful sketch from Frank, sorry to hear about the circumstances that brought it about though. You and James have my condolences.
It wasn't popular with all kids: when I read this issue, I HATED it. I didn't think the stars looked like they were supposed to, I didn't think the ships looked like they were supposed to, etc. Now, many years later, it's one of my favorite stories, but back then all I was was upset that I didn't get the promised adaption of "Empire Strikes Back" in that issue. Congrats on getting a great piece of artwork!
One of the nicest convention sketches I've seen from Joe, those are rare things. Congrats!
Check out how C.C. Beck draws the Marvel Family smile: a mass of unbroken white. This is Adam's version of that. VERY sweet image!
Nice piece. It screams "Shon Howell" to me, and if you got it as a free sketch from an eBay purchase, it had to be him... http://king-cheetah.deviantart.com/
Poison Ivy died? Well, I guess every DC villain has "died" at some point in their career. :-)
Nice one, Ray! It's cool to see the differences between these two studies... http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryPiece.asp?Piece=88774&GSub=12964&GCat=0&UCat=0
Trust me, "Tim Vigil" and "Black Cat" IS an "unusual or unlikely team-up". ;-)
Hey, Ethan's doing Batman/Catwoman, so he's not missing it just yet at the moment. ;-)
ps. That's inks with white-out effects added on. Just love how this piece came out.
