DescriptionMarvel Treasury Edition #26 was released with a cover date of July 1980It actualy reprinted a story that appeared in Marvel Comics #335 which was released in the UK, outside of the USA with a cover date of March 1979. So, this artwork was first featured in 1979 in the UK then reused in the USA reprinted into Marvel Treasury Edition #26 This pre-dates Wolverine #1 which many collectors tout as the "1st Wolverine Solo comic book" which has a cover date of September 1982 as well as Uncanny X-Men #133 (Wolvrine Alone) with a cover date of May 1980 This is a little known chronological fact that this story was created in 1979 and re-presented in 1980 because the comic book formats were oversized from standard comic books. This was created around the time of Uncanny X-Men #119, so it's clearly many issues before #133 and pre-dates Frank Miller's solo title as well. This is the 1st historic story of Wolverine without any of the X-Men. This page has some sort of fixant that was sprayed on it to protect the pencils and inks that gives it a glossy type texture. It's a one of a kind page, so I'm not sure if all of the pages were treated the same way by the artist or art owner or not.
