Supergirl by Nakayama Owner: AKA Rick Comment posted on 10/17/2021
David Matheny said:
15 years later? ![]() SAINT RESERVE - David Nakayama asked me to take the image down as it didn't reflect the evolved high quality artwork he was producing at the time and promised me a free replacement sketch... but I never got one. I used to see him at conventions in-person, so assumed it would happen at the next show I saw him at, but I've not seen him for years. |

I remember the circumstances surrounding this piece very well. I am really surprised that Jim let this one go. You are very fortunate to own this awesome piece of art!!! ![]() THANKS! I bought it directly from his website that sold his strips, sorted in the store by date, and it was just sitting there among the other pieces, chronologically, so I felt it was a good conversation piece as well as a solid investment too. |

"Marvel Divas" - Women of the X-Men ft. Phoenix, Emma, Pyslocke, Kitty, Storm, and Rogue by Greg Horn (full colored print) Owner: Yehoy Lee Comment posted on 12/14/2012
Frederic Lorge said:
In a single image, a penciller cancels 40 years of stories where these women has been described as focused, intelligent, independant and strong-minded. I feel sorry for people who like women, even characters from comic books to be reduced to DDD bodies. ![]() Technically, that is incorrect since these women (fictional characters) didn't exist 40 years ago. Rogue was created in 1981. Psylocke was created in 1987. Phoenix was created in 1976. Kitty Pryde was created in 1980. Emma Frost was created in 1980. ...and the oldest character of 'em all, Storm was created in 1975 (37 years ago). Plus, there's been no scientific correlation between breast size and a woman's intelligence nor other non-physical traits either. This is an aesthetically beautifully rendered drawing by Greg Horn, one of the masters of photo realistic artwork. |

Polaris Commission Owner: Dean Summers Comment posted on 10/19/2012 Great commission. I'm not sure why Marvel ever changed her costume, designed by the legendary Jim Steranko, her original outfit has all of the elements that a classic or iconic costume should have, with the face mask not obstructing her face or hair, and the mandatory hip hugging skimpy garb and even a cape. This is a well executed piece by Terry Dodson. |

Avengers #200 recreation by Mike Miller Owner: Edd Walker Comment posted on 7/10/2012 This is what I consider a really great recreation since it's not an artist trying to mimic the original in style, it's Mike Miller's reimagined version which he clearly makes his own. A really awesome job! |

Fantastic Four #200 - Kirby and Sinnott Owner: Michael One Minute Later Comment posted on 1/10/2012 This is a museum quality piece. Very nostalgic (as well as aesthetic) with the logos, an action scene that relates to the interrior story, background and inks compared to some of the modern day artwork of today that's simply light penciled pin-ups that don't even relate to the story. I remember when comics hitting landmark issues like #100 and #200 were celebrated with grand pageantry like this, before the whole "new series" #1 first issue marketing gimmicks of today. |

Amazing Spider-Man #39 - John Romita Jr. & John Romita Sr - One Minute Later Owner: Michael One Minute Later Comment posted on 11/2/2011 The "...One Minute Later" is a great concept, and I'm sure you'll bookend it with a "Moments Before..." once you hit the wall with all of the epic sequences you're commissioning. Adam Hughes Nightcrawler Sketch Commission Owner: Tatiana TDArt Dykes Comment posted on 10/12/2011 This is a great masterpiece. It's sometimes easier for people to focus in on the T... ( o ) ( o ) n' A... ( )( ) of comic book artwork which sometimes distracts from true artistic talent, if you remember the 90's bad girl era. A piece like this reminds everyone of what a truly great artist Adam Hughes is, and it's not all about the sizzle of sex, but the substance of his detailed rendering, which this is of cover quality. |

Hulk Annual 7 page 8 Owner: EDWARD E Comment posted on 8/3/2010 Bob Layton is a great artist, and in the 80's he did a great job embellishing the works by John Byrne and John Romita Jr. This is a page worth high praise artistically and the story was a great single issue saga!
