Description

I loved the new 80's Eagle for Doomlord, The Collector, Tower King and House of Daemon.
As a comic it generally gets short shrift as looking very tame compared to 2000ad of that time.
Undoubtably that is true but I still love the Dan Dare centre pages.
Oli Frey only did 2 centre-spreads (as well as 5 Annual/Specials and the Timads story when the paper changed) but I love Oli Frey's airbrush not least as it reminds me of reading CRASH Magazine.

This recreation is by David Golding who did a fantastic job of capturing the style in watercolours, inks and markers.

The Star Rider was a fantastic baddie - an alien bounty hunter with a flying shark. Mr Golding has done Mr Frey's pages justice, which I've not read for 30 years but recall perfectly such was their goodness. Needs a reprint!
