Description

You all know the score by now. It’s the painted page with acetate overlay that was sent to the printer. Yay! Is this as close to a DKR page as I will ever get? Never say never. Wanted a page with a bat hisssss’ing for sure. Thanks to Mitch for everything helping this page make the long journey to me in Budapest.

Great one with the bloodied and battered Batman back in the cave with lots of those trophies that only remind him how old he is and those shadows that look like ghosts. The two red eyes at the end of a bat remind us of the animal within that still lurks.

Splendid DKR painted page by Lynn Varley, Not everybody likes these but to me, they are an essential part of the process. Not as Frank Miller art, but as Lynn Varley art. I'd suggest adding another shot just of Varely's colors without the overlay. Varley was a remarkable colorist and her skills added to the overall tone and mood of DKR that we all remember and cherish. It's not just a color guide, it is a part of the finished work.
