DescriptionThis was a "grail" piece for me as I loved the Marvel Presents Guardians series when I was a kid and this was my favorite cover from the series. This was also used more recently as the cover art to the "Guardians of the Galaxy: Tomorrow's Avengers, Vol. 1" trade paperback, which reprinted their early appearances. The Starhawk image was also used for a 2009 hardcover reprint of the Marvel Presents series called "The Power of Starhawk". This image was used yet again in April 2023 for the Guardians of the Galaxy Epic Collection: Earth Shall Overcome trade paperback.Al Milgrom is mainly known as an inker these days, but he did a really nice job on this series (as well as Captain Marvel at around the same time). I'm pretty sure there's a stat version of this cover out there somewhere as there are a few small differences from the published version (particularly the rock that Charlie 27 is throwing). Let me know if you come across the publication stat, as I'd love to own it (or at least see it). Social/Sharing |

Great cover from that run! I always loved the Original Guardians! I think that pose of Star Hawk was used for house ads as well during the 70's. Congrats on acquiring a Great Piece!

One word to describe Al Migrom's solo work: Sturdy. That and it looks like it came right out of How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way!
