Disney's ROGER RABBIT #2 shadowbox paper sculpture 3D 2015

Some covers or images I see immediately strike me as a natural subject to make a 3D of. Such was the case when I first saw this ROGER RABBIT #2 cover by Rick Hoberg and Gary Martin back in 1990 when it was published. Back then I did make a 3D of it just for fun using all original covers,,but eventually sold it somewhere along the line. I promised myself to do it again so I stocked up on copies of the book while I could.

Now 25 years later, I made another 3D of it. This time however, I built up the 3D using scan prints of the cover since I now prefer using that on heavy semi-gloss paper. I then used 3 original covers I had for the top layer.

This 3D took about 25 hours over the past week to make. Using the actual covers on the top also added to the production time. A bit redundant but I felt necessary in this case given Disney. There is another RR cover and and several Uncle Scrooge images I also plan to make soon.

In 2019 this was sold via silent auction at the San Diego Comic Con Art Show
