DescriptionMy wife is the greatest. She got this for me on our first wedding anniversary this year. It is a wonderful page from a book that I love, Angel and the Ape.There are certain names that have become almost unattainable for a collector of my buying-ability. Wally Wood is one of them. I follow the markets pretty closely, and Woody's art is both rare, and it is continually going up in price. Well, thanks to my wife, I now have an original piece from one of the truly great American comic artists. Insane. Bob Oksner will forever be underrated. His cartooning skills are on an entirely other level. I first saw his work as an inker actually. I think it was on the Supergirl book from the 80's. I know that there are some creators that have advocated the quality of his work, but because of the way comics have become entirely superhero-centric, it makes it harder for modern fans to appreciate his large, non-superhero, body of work on books like this and Jerry Lewis. Congrats on the nice page by 2 of comics greats! Thanks Frank! Woody was one of those artists that I found and enjoyed early on in my collecting days. When the book 'Against the Grain' came out is when I really learned more about this period of his work, and some of his more obscure stuff.

Great page. Lots of fun by one of the best pairings of artists of that era. I had been looking for an Oksner/Wood page from Angel and the Ape for quite a while before I found mine and I know rare and precious these are.

Your Angel and the Ape page is fantastic. The third panel is one of my favorites... 'I don't like his face'...

One of my favorite comic books, too! Oksner and Wood were just insanely attractive together, and Angel & The Ape was a relatively obscure late '60s highlight of The Silver Age. I thought about getting this page and I'm sorry now that I didn't. Congrats, and your wife sounds amazing. Cheers! :-)
