Description

Classic cover by Powers for the Ballantine Book The Silver Eggheads by Fritz Lieber (1961). The timely story is a satire about how AI starts writing all books (and this was written in 1961)! Powers had a laugh by portraying his publisher/boss Ian Ballantine (Ballantine Books) in the arms of the book-writing robot. Ian amusingly approved the cover, adding "You're gonna make me famous!" Ian and Betty Ballantine owned this piece until Betty's passing several years ago.
