Description

This painting was created as a personal work in Oct 1992. Approx size 21 x 28".

It has a similar main character and boat to an earlier Don Maitz painting which was commissioned c1981 for the cover of "The Former King", by Adam Corby, published by Timescape Books in 1981.

Included in "Dreamquests: The art of Don Maitz", published by Underwood Miller in 1993. Appeared in the "Don Maitz trading card set #1" published by FPG in 1994.

Later used for the cover of "On Stranger Tides" by Tim Powers, for the Croatian language edition published by Zagrebacka Naklada in 2001.

Featured in the "Pirates! 2009 Calendar" by Don Maitz, published by Tide-Mark in 2008.
