Description

Another pick-up from the Windy City Pulp and Paper convention. This Richard Powers painting is the cover for the first Berserker collection of stories by Fred Saberhagen. This was published by Ballantine Books in 1967. As you can see, for publication they flipped the painting and obscured Powers signature which is in the lower right.

It looks so out there as it embraces different graphic techniques instead of the full painted style. Linework, screentones, watercolor, and surrealism put together to bring something new.
