DescriptionI love first appearance issues, especially when they involve female characters.Although Helen Takahama first appeared in Thunderbolts #1 (1997), she didn't become Jolt until issue #4, when she donned her costume and joined the team. I really enjoyed reading this series. To fill the void left by all the main Marvel heroes apparently dying (after being shunted off to a pocket universe by Franklin Richards during "Heroes Reborn"), a new team of costumed heroes appeared on the scene. Little did anyone know, but this group was actually the Masters of Evil, led by Baron Zemo masquerading as Citizen V. The addition of Jolt to the team was quite significant. When she found out about her teammates actually being super-villains, she was shocked, but with her optimism & youthful feelings of right and wrong, she managed to convince some of her teammates to do the right thing and fight Baron Zemo and the other evil Thunderbolts. What followed was a life on the run for Jolt, although thanks to the Avenger known as Hawkeye, the team finally came within reach of real redemption. Social/Sharing |

Well here's a fun one! Last week, I heard that comic guys were suddenly speculating on copies of this issue because Miki Ishikawa, who will be in the upcoming Falcon & Winter Soldier Disney+ series in an as yet unknown role, had recently posted some pictures on her Instagram and one of them was of a closeup of her wrist which had a newtattoo of what can only be described as a tiny thunder bolt. So those comic fanboys are now speculating that she might be playing the role of Bolt. If that does indeed come to pass, you'll be able to throw it up at auction and get millions for it! Bolt! Bolt! Bolt!

Wow, I just googled it, and you are absolutely right! That is so cool! But I think you meant to say that Miki Ishikawa might be playing the role of "Jolt," not "Bolt." So ... Jolt! Jolt! Jolt!

Sweet cover to a key early issue from this series that definitely filled a void at the time! I like the central figure for sure but really like the head shots of the Masters of Ev...er...Thunderbolts flanking her! Real Bagley goodness. Congrats!
