Wow...my favorite Jim Burns painting of all time. I love the effect he used to render the robot, and the plane design is just wonderful. Burns' 70s era oil paintings have a mysterious quality I just love. I believe this also appeared in an early issue of OMNI magazine, and it definitely appeared in the first OMNI collection of science fiction.
