DescriptionI've had this for awhile now. It's one of the best Moore/Totleben/Bissette stories in my opinion. Werewolves, women, menstruation, full moons, misogyny -- themes way beyond the comics code's stringent guidelines all wrapped up into a story entitled, "The Curse." 5 years later, a movie called Ginger Snaps was lionized as a ground breaking film. And it was. But Moore was there first. I've got to write a long form APA article on this story someday. Wish I owned page 16 or 17 of this story-- to own both together would really be something, but glad-- very glad-- to own this one. Many thought I paid too much for this when it surfaced. But by today's numbers, I'm glad I pounced when I did.Social/Sharing |

Hi John, what a super-fantastic page from this tremendous issue. I should have known you ended up with this! One of the best Totleben/Bissette pages I've ever seen turn up. Congrats!

That is an off-the-charts stunning piece of art. Bissette and Totleben were such a strong pairing - and they did such great things on this series. This page is a great example of most of them!

This comic blew my mind when I was 15. This art blows my mind at almost age 45. Swamp Thing written by Alan Moore was poetry... better than poetry as it was also in the language of visual arts by an artist who could speak it and do it justice. Swamp Thing was Alan Moore and John Totleben's finest hour.

My first exposure to Alan Moore's Swamp Thing! The art was dark and moody! Great story! Enough to get me wanting to read more issues!
